Kimberly Turner, age 55, of Mahnomen, MN, died on Monday, May 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Kimberly Patrice Anderson was born September 29, 1966, in Park Rapids, MN, the daughter of Vernon and LaVonne (Colemer) Anderson. She grew up with her brother and sister on the family's home on Tulaby Lake. Kim attended school in Waubun and graduated with the Class of 1985. Following high school, she attended the Detroit Lakes Vo-Tech, where she earned her LPN Degree. On August 23, 1986, Kimberly was united in marriage to Craig Turner. The young couple made their home in Mahnomen and raised two boys, Michal and Cody. Kim began her nursing career working in Mahnomen for Dr. Ed LaDue, followed by several years at the Mahnomen Hospital. She then went to work at Dakota Clinic in Detroit Lakes, MN. After 12 years there, Kim left the clinic to work for White Earth Nation as a health educator. Most recently Kim had been working as the Community Education Coordinator for the White Earth Tribal College. Kim worked for the White Earth Nation for over 15 years.
Kim was a fun loving, spunky gal with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed her bulldogs, quilting, gardening, spending time at the lake, sitting around a bonfire and all the good times spent with her girlfriends, especially the shopping trips with her family! In 2007, Craig and Kim began raising and showing Bulldogs. They would often travel all over to attend dog shows and even brought home two Grand Champions Ribbons! Over the years, they met and made many lifelong friends they could share their love of their Bulldogs with. Above all, family was the most important part of her life. She loved them all and cherished the times spent with them especially her granddaughters; Emri, Aubri, and Camri and nieces; Grace and Josie, she treated like her own. Although gone from this life to soon, she will live on forever in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know and love her.
Kim leaves behind her husband, Craig of Mahnomen; sons, Michal and Cody (Traci) both of Mahnomen; three grandchildren: Emri, Aubri and Camri Turner; her parents, Vern (LaVonne) Anderson of Tulaby Lake; one brother, Chuck (Neily) Anderson of Twin Valley, MN; one sister, Jennifer (Vance) Stevens of Mahnomen; mother-in-law, Beverly Turner of Naytahwaush, MN; brother-in-law, Edward E.
