Kevin D. Hansen, 61, Ada, MN, formerly of Hillsboro, ND, died Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Kevin was born September 17, 1955 in Fargo ND and grew up on his family's farm near Hunter. Kevin and Cindy (Thompson) were married September 26, 1975 and made their home near Hillsboro, ND. Over the years they were blessed with 2 children – Jessica and Troy. They recently moved to Ada, MN.

Kevin enjoyed spending the summer at the family cabin on Elbow Lake (Waubun, MN) with Cindy, his children, grandchildren and neighbors Marc, Nancy & Mavis Garrett. While there he enjoyed fishing, spending time reading down by the shoreline and watching his granddaughters swim. He found great joy in passing along his love of fishing to all the kids he was honored to have called him "smelly grandpa".

Kevin was always a farmer at heart and that continued on even after his own farming career came to an end. For years he maintained beautiful vegetable gardens at the family cabin that he enjoyed caring for every summer. He enjoyed canning and making delicious spaghetti sauce each fall, which he loved to share.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cindy, Ada MN; daughter Jessica (Travis) Pfau, Jamestown ND; son Troy, Argusville ND; sister Karen (Gordon) Jewett, Hunter ND; and 2 granddaughters that were the light in his life Emerson & Elliot. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald & Arlene, sister, Kathy & brother, Kelly.

Memorial Service: 5:00PM Saturday, May 6, 2017 , at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Visitation: For one hour before the service at the funeral home.
