Blomseth
Aug 23, 1968 — Mar 8, 2024
Hawley
Kevin Blomseth, age 55, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
Kevin Marlen, the son of Wally and Linda (Seykora) Blomseth, was born on August 23, 1968, at the hospital in Ada, MN. He was baptized and later confirmed his faith at Wild Rive Lutheran Church, rural Twin Valley, MN. Kevin along with his younger brother, David, grew up on the family farm near Twin Valley helping daily with the cattle and farm chores. During his youngest years, Kevin was very involved with his grandparents who lived next door. As he grew up, he spent hours playing around the farm, getting into mischief, and making wonderful memories. He attended Twin Valley High School and graduated with the class of 1986. Over the years, Kevin held a variety of jobs, beginning as an aide at the Twin Valley Living Center where he worked with his grandma. Kevin continued working in the medical field at the nursing home in Detroit Lakes, MN, and later as a paramedic. He transitioned into driving truck which became his primary career. Kevin drove over the road for many years. Kevin was blessed with two children, Brady and Olivia, and in 2007 he met the love of his life, Stacey Edwards. Kevin and Stacey have shared their life together since and were united in marriage on July 20, 2013. In 2012, the couple moved from Detroit Lakes to Hawley, MN where they made their home. Ten years ago, Kevin was diagnosed with a degenerative disease which he fought tirelessly. Although life had many challenges, Kevin remained positive and tried to keep busy. He spent many hours each season mowing lawn and blowing snow. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, and ride 4-wheeler. He came back to the farm, in Twin Valley, as often as he was able to simply enjoy nature. Kevin also enjoyed listening to music, especially country music, as he was truly a cowboy at heart. He was a talented singer, excellent dancer, and more recently enjoyed watching videos online. Above all, Kevin loved his family and cherished time with them. He was kind, generous and helped anyone he could. Kevin had many close friends and loved each of them as family.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Stacey of Hawley; daughter, Olivia Blomseth of Grand Forks, ND; his parents, Wally and Linda Blomseth of Twin Valley; one brother, David (Lorie) Blomseth and two nephews, all of Detroit Lakes; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his son, Brady in 2005.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Wild Rice Lutheran Church, rural Twin Valley. A time of gathering will be one hour before the service. Inurnment will be in Wild Rice Lutheran Cemetery.
