Kerry Johnson, age 61, of West Fargo, ND, passed away at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of the Red River Valley, on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Kerry Lee Johnson, the son of Burnett and Marilyn (Ellefson) Johnson, was born on July 8, 1962, in Ada, MN.  The youngest of their three sons, Kerry and his brothers grew up on the family farm south of Twin Valley, MN, and attended Twin Valley High School.  Kerry was baptized at Syre Lutheran Church and later confirmed his faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley.  After graduating with the class of 1980, Kerry attended technical college in Moorhead, MN, studying diesel mechanics.  He was employed as a mechanic in the Fargo-Moorhead area for the duration of his career, working for a time with E.W. Wylie Trucking, Valley Imports, and later Sherman's.  Several years ago, Kerry began working for RDO equipment where he has been employed since.  Nearly 20 years ago, Kerry met Tammy King, who was the love of his life. The couple shared life together making their home in West Fargo and were officially united in marriage on April 19, 2022.  Kerry and Tammy often traveled as they loved being on the open road on his motorcycle.  Kerry was a motorcycle enthusiast and took off on the bike as often as he could.  Kerry enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his buddies.  He cherished his annual hunting trips to the North Dakota badlands, and more recently, deer hunting back home on the farm with his brother and close friends.  Kerry had many friends in his life and was always there to lend a hand.  He enjoyed small gatherings and spending time with close friends.  Kerry had a contagious smile and was known to crack silly jokes to make others laugh.  Kerry has bravely battled his cancer diagnosis for two years and is now at peace.  Blessed be the memory of Kerry Johnson.

Kerry is survived by his wife, Tammy of West Fargo, ND; his mother, Marilyn Johnson of Twin Valley; one brother, Danny (Cindy) Johnson of Twin Valley; sister-in-law, Misty Tores; brother-in-law, Joseph Leddige; his mother-in-law: Sherlyn Meiers; five nephews: Chase and Cody Johnson, Zane Abshire, Zach Tores, and Reed Leddige; aunts and uncles: Lowell (Orrine) Ellefson, Margaritte Johnson, and Grace (Chuck) Dvorak; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Burnett; one brother, Doyle; three uncles: Kenneth, Arnie, and Daryl; and three aunts: Eunice, Annabelle, and Lois.

Kerry's family requests that memorials be given, in his memory, to the Syre Cemetery or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
