Watch Kermit's Funeral Service

Kermit Lomsdalen, age 91, of Ulen, MN, died on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Hawley Senior Living, Hawley, MN.

Kermit was born to Obert and Lena Lomsdalen on the farm near Ulen on July 29, 1930. He had one sister, Orpha Lomsdalen (Hilde). Kermit and Doris Thompson were united in marriage on June 24, 1951. The couple were blessed with 3 children, JoAnn, Kerwin and Darwin. The family made their home on the farm where they raised their children, their crops, and milked cows. Kermit worked for Crystal Sugar in Moorhead, MN, for many years. In 1982, Kermit and his wife started Lomsdalen Gravel Business.

Kermit had the gift to gab. He could strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger and in a matter of 10 minutes could be the best of friends. One of his greatest joys in life was his family. He cherished time with his children and grandchildren and was very proud of all of them. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by two children, JoAnn Salter of Verona, ND and Kerwin (Renee) Lomsdalen of Ulen; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Kermit is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; sister, Orpha; son, Darwin; grandson, Kyle; and great granddaughter, Gracie Gillespie.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, at the Ulen Community Park, North Shelter. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, Twin Valley, MN.

Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, social distancing will be practiced, and all are encouraged to wear a mask to keep families safe.
