Kenneth Eugene Badboy was born May, 2, 1950, near Ponsford, MN. He grew up near Waubun, MN, on the Paur family farm. Ken attended school in Waubun, and during his junior year he took the GED exam and received his high school diploma. He then attended Vo-Tec in Detroit Lakes and also worked in the Waubun area before deciding to enter the Army. He served his country for three years, spending most of his time in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, Ken moved to Nett Lake, MN, and began his career in law enforcement at Boise Fort Indian Reservation. He was united in marriage to Carol Connor and they made their home in Orr, MN. He was the Judicial Director and served as a Judge at Nett Lake for a time, while attending Bemidji State University in Bemidji, MN. In the late 1990's he returned to the Waubun area. On May 6, 2000, Ken was united in marriage to Bonnie Heisler Spry. He was employed by the White Earth Reservation Tribal Council and was the Tribal Public Safety Director. He was instrumental in organizing Law Enforcement Agreements with Mahnomen, Becker and Clearwater Counties. Ken was a true advocate for their success. Due to failing health, Ken retired in the mid 2000's.

Ken was a gentle and kind man who was always helping others. He was a true handyman and could fix nearly anything. He also spent many hours fishing and camping when he was able. He loved family get togethers, playing guitar and eating the wonderful treats.
