Watch Kaylee's Funeral Mass

Kaylee Marie (Lefebvre) Smith, 36, of Mahnomen, MN passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Kaylee was born on August 17, 1989, in Detroit Lakes, MN, to Scott and Deanna (Doty) Lefebvre. She graduated elementary school from St. Michael's Catholic School and then graduated high school from Mahnomen with the class of 2008. Kaylee then went on to attend Rasmussen College to study accounting.

Kaylee had an incredible work ethic, starting with babysitting as a young girl, then, from working at Thrifty White Drug Store during her high school years, to eventually finding her life career with the Human Resources Department at the White Earth R.B.C.

With her big heart, kindness, patience and grace, she would go above and beyond to help anyone who needed it, never putting herself first.

Kaylee was blessed with three children: Stephen (19), Karidee (17), and Emma (14). Although becoming a mother at a young age, she was naturally amazing at being a mom. She did whatever it took to provide for them, and with her crazy and bubbly personality she has left them with so many wonderful memories of laughter and "Oh my God Mom" moments.

As the first child of Scott and Deanna, the first grandchild on both sides of the family, the first great-grandchild and great-great grandchild on her dad's side, Kaylee brought us all a whole other level of love that none of us could have imagined, and paved the way for all the others who followed her.

Kaylee loved being a country girl, riding horse and camping, and hanging out in a lawn chair visiting with family and friends. But being a country girl didn't stop her from liking a good pampering pedicure and manicure whenever she could squeeze it in. With that crazy and bubbly personality, she would take the most unexpected moment and turn it into a big belly laugh.

With broken hearts, Kaylee leaves behind her children: Stephen Lefebvre-Dahl, Karidee Lefebvre, and Emma Smith; her parents, Scott and Deanna Lefebvre; brothers, Kole and Kody Lefebvre; grandparents: David and Florence Doty, Karen Lefebvre, Ron and Deb Lefebvre; significant other, Frank White, and her two "babies" her Pitbull, Jax, and Great Dane, Casper; and many, many, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Greeting Kaylee in Heaven include her great-grandparents: Russell and Ramona Kent, Arla Kent, Vince and Nydia Lefebvre, Henry and Susan Geray, Edward Doty, and Mary Doty; cousins: Seth Kent, Jason Lindsay, and Brandon Kent; four great-uncles, and one great-aunt.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Mahnomen, MN. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the church.
