Kathryn Cecelia Tadych, 72, of Fertile, MN, died on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at the Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile. Kathy was born July 10, 1942, to Chester and Esther (Britung) Waldack in Minneapolis, MN. She attended school in Hopkins, MN.
On May 6, 1961, Kathy married Richard Leon Tadych at Zion Lutheran Church, Hopkins, MN. They moved to rural Fertile in 1971, where they raised their 7 boys. Kathy stayed home with the boys until they were older and then she began working at the SandHill Supper Club. Over the years, she worked in several local businesses. Richard died on December 7, 1995. In 2010, Kathy lost her eyesight and moved in with her son, James. The next four years allowed her children to express their love for their mother by caring for her. She entered the Fair Meadow Nursing Home on September 3, 2014. She was a longtime member of St. Johns Lutheran Church of rural Fertile.
Kathy enjoyed the thrill and anticipation of the Shooting Star Casino. She made numerous crafts and art projects. Prior to her blindness, Kathy loved reading books and afterward, she listened to many books on tape. Kathy's greatest love was her family.
Kathy is survived by her children: Richard (Karen); Troy, James, Mark, Christopher (Lisa), Aaron (Tracy) all of Fertile, MN; and Nathan (Sylvia), Winger, MN; 9 grandchildren; brothers and sister: Robert, Leo, Charles, John, Emily, and Thomas; several nephews, nieces, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers: Richard and Jim.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 11:00, Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile, MN.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, on Friday, November 7, 2014, in the Erikson-Vik Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.

Burial will be in the Fertile City Cemetery, Fertile, MN
