Kathryn (Kathy) Ann Morvig, 52, of Fertile, MN, died on October 28, 2010, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. She was born October 14, 1958, in Crookston, MN, to Arthur and Dorothy (Neuman) Schuschke. Kathy was baptized, confirmed and married in Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile. She graduated from Fertile-Beltrami High School in 1977. Kathy attended Moorhead Technical School and graduated with an associate degree in Legal Office Management from University of Minnesota, Crookston.
On July 8, 1978, Kathy married Alton Morvig and became a member of Little Norway Lutheran Church, Fertile. She worked at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, John Winters Law Office, Fosston Hospital, Diocese of Crookston in the Office of Christian Service, and was a private day-care provider when her boys were young. Even with her fragile health she continued to work until 2009, when she was no longer able to continue.
In her younger years, Kathy played flute in band, sang in choir and was a cheerleader. As she grew older, she developed a deep love for cross-stitching, winning Blue and Grand Championship ribbons at the Polk County Fair. In the last several years, Kathy was a Chemo Angel—using her computer to encourage people dealing with cancer. For many years, she touched many people encouraging them onward with the knowledge that someone cared. Mostly, though, Kathy was a mom. She loved to cook and bake for her family, as well as doing all the unnoticed, yet deeply appreciated, tasks of mothering.
Kathy is survived by her beloved family: husband, Alton, Fertile, MN; two sons, Bryan (Kim),and grandchildren, Katarina and Brayden, of Albertville, MN, and Jeff of Fertile; parents, Arthur and Dorothy Schuschke of Fertile; brother, Dale (Leslie) Schuschke, and her nephews: Joshua and Erik, and niece, Kelly of Louisville, KY, her mother-in-law, Elaine Morvig, and in-laws-- Eileen (Dennis) Martin, Ottertail, MN, Mark (Susan) Morvig, Winger, MN, and DeAnn (Todd) Bruggeman, Crookston, MN; and aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and father-in-law, LeRoy Morvig, August 25, 2010.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at 11 am in the Little Norway Lutheran Church, rural Fertile, Mn.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 3, 2010, from 5-8 p, with a prayer service at 7:30 pm in the Erikson-Vik Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.

Burial will be in the Little Norway Lutheran Cemetery,
