Kathleen "Katy" R. Strom, 85, Ada, MN, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Benedictine Care Community in Ada.

Katy was born on March 19, 1938 to Rae and Evelyn (Menge) Lenz. She grew up on the family farm north of Beltrami, MN and graduated from Fertile High School in 1956.

On June 15, 1956 Katy married James Strom and together they had two children, Timothy, born in 1957, and Jolene, in 1960. They spent most of their early years living in Ada. During these years Katy worked for the local doctor in his office. In 1973 Katy and James moved to Perham, MN where they enjoyed watching the local high school sports teams and other school activities. Katy also enjoyed golfing at the local golf course. During these years she worked at the local Co-op. After retiring, Katy was elected to the Perham City Council. She thoroughly enjoyed serving the community and it was during these years that many wonderful friends came into Katy's life, and she cherished each friendship.

Katy is survived by her son, Tim (Cheryl) Strom; daughter, Jolene (Rick) Olson; sister, Claudia (Bob) Rasmus; sisters-in-law, Sharon Lenz, and Judy Boucher; brothers-in-law, Howard (Carol) Strom, and Earl (Marilyn) Strom; granddaughters, Jamie Strom, Megan (Josh) Kratcha, Sadie (Justin) Satrom, and Kelsey Olson; great grandchildren, Madison, Noah, Rhiah, Claire, Cooper, Aniston, Adriana, Lincoln, McCoy, and Sutton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, Patrick; her parents, Rae and Evelyn; and brother, Jon Lenz.

Memorial Service: 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the memorial service at the funeral home.

Inurnment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
