Karen Marie Blumberg, age 36, of Lonsdale, MN, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 20, 2014, after a hard struggle with addiction.

Karen was born to Dick and Marge (Maruska) Donnell, in Fosston, MN, on April 8, 1978. She was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Beaulieu, MN. She attended St. Michael's Catholic School in Mahnomen, MN, graduating from Mahnomen High School in 1996. Karen attended Mayville State University for a short time, later moving to the Minneapolis area where she worked various jobs while earning her LPN nursing degree.

Karen was married to Brian P. Blumberg on June 19, 2004, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They made their home in Webster, MN. Karen studied registered general nursing at South Central Community College and accepted a position as an OB nurse at Park Nicollet. Karen and Brian had their first child, Annabelle, in 2007. When Wyatt was born in 2011, she became a full time stay at home mom. She moved to Lonsdale, MN, in March of 2014, where she worked part time at Fred's IGA. She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lonsdale and enrolled her children at Holy Cross Catholic School.

Karen was accomplished at homemaking and had a knack for being thrifty and coupon cutting. She was a witty individual who loved the color yellow for about anything and was passionate about frogs, especially her frog socks. Karen loved to bake and was a wonderful cook. Dancing was one of her passions as well as singing, crafting, and scrapbooking. She had a deep love for her children, family and friends.

Karen is survived by her husband, Brian, son, Wyatt and daughter, Annabelle of New Prague, MN, mother, Marjorie Donnell of Fosston, brothers; Darrell Donnell of Lengby, MN and Bruce (Judi-Heston) Donnell of Spring Lake Park, MN, sister, Diane (Rich) Schultz of Cambridge, MN, mother-in-law, Linda Rupp of New Prague, father-in-law, Donald (Brenda) Blumberg of Turtle Lake, WI, sisters-in-law, Jesika (Cody) Sutton of Maple Grove, MN, and Brenda Blumberg of Boston, MA, nieces and nephews; M"Kenzy, Kallie and Grace Larson, Gavin, Maggie, Tyler and Ashley Schultz and Sophie Blumberg. She was preceded by her father, Richard, brothers; Tommy and David, brother-in-law, Jerry Blumberg and sister-in-law, Jennifer Blumberg.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Beaulieu. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. at the church.

Inurnment will be held in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Beaulieu.
