Karen Anderson, age 64, of Twin Valley, MN, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Karen Theresa Buschette was born on April 26, 1962, in Detroit Lakes, MN, to Lawrence and Rosemary (Johnson) Buschette. She was raised on the family farm outside of Waubun and graduated from Waubun High School with the Class of 1980.

Karen married Scott Anderson in 1980, and the couple made their home in Texas while Scott was stationed there. Although their marriage ended, they were blessed with a daughter, Rachel. Karen and Rachel returned to northern Minnesota, where she shared many years with Dale Treichel. Together they welcomed two sons, Damien and Kody, and made their home in Twin Valley.

In the early 1990s, Karen began her career at Shooting Star Casino as a blackjack dealer. Over the course of her 21 years there, she worked her way up to floor supervisor. After retiring, she devoted herself to caring full-time for her three great-nephews, a role she treasured. Her health declined unexpectedly in recent months.

Karen enjoyed keeping her mind active with crossword puzzles and Nintendo games. She loved spending time outdoors in the sunshine and filled her home with houseplants. She had a spunky spirit, a generous heart, and was always looking after those she loved. Above all, family meant everything to Karen, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Karen is survived by her children: Rachel Anderson, Damien (Hailey Thornton) Treichel, and Kody (Brianne Beck) Treichel; grandchildren: Gemma, Chance, Amelia, Ryder, Braden, Zoe, and Gillian; great-grandson, Sterling Anderson; brother, Kenny Buschette; sisters: Lois Buschette, Sandy Soyring, Bev Buschette, and Margie (Kelvin) Krueger; and many nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Rosemary, and brother, Earl Buschette.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 24, 2026 at 2:00pm, with a visitation one hour before, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley.
