Julie Roberts, age 56, of Mahnomen, MN, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the Mahnomen Health Center, Mahnomen, MN.

Julie Lavonne Roberts was born on May 18, 1966, in Park Rapids, MN, to Lyman and Carol (Chesley) Roberts. Julie lived in St. Paul for a few years before her family moved to the Pine Point and Ponsford area. She graduated from Park Rapids High School and furthered her education at the Detroit Lakes Technical College, graduating with a degree in carpentry. Following graduation, Julie continued to live in Detroit Lakes for many years and was employed at Sunrise Construction where she helped build new houses and apartments. Later in life, Julie was diagnoses with thyroid cancer which she strongly battled and beat. Following her health struggles, she became a homemaker, filling her time with caring for her many beloved children and grandchildren.

Julie was known for her big heart and loving personality. Family was everything to her. She was often found with grandchildren hanging off her, which she always loved. Julie was known as "Mom" by lots of folks, many not even biological family. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing new outfits and regalia, attending pow-wows, and watching movies with family.

Julie is survived by her children: Marlon Roberts, Terra Roberts, Skye (Leroy Hanks) Roberts, Ambrosia Roberts, Eldon Bellanger, Emily Bellanger, and Robin (John Annette) Jones; 14 grandchildren: Cadence, Debized, Olivia, Azaliah, Cassidy, Dibinawe, Airliina, Briley, Nindaanis, Azyloh, Meadow, Vivian, Wahwahtay Lico, Esparanza, and one on the way; brothers, Gerald "Jeep" (Lorraine) Roberts, Lyman "Butch" (Carleen) Roberts, and Raymond "David" (Cheryl) Roberts; sister, Janelle Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, and all of her other "children". Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Lyman Roberts and Carol (Thomas) Jones; son, Kevin Roberts; siblings, Sharon Roberts and Gregory "Moon" Roberts; beloved grandmother, Georgiana; Aunt, Laura Wind; Uncle, Gerald "Jerry" Adams; and a few special grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Old Pine Point School in Pine Point, MN.  Visitation will begin Monday, March 27, 2023, at 5:00 pm with a ceremony at 7:00 pm and continue until the funeral on Tuesday.
