Joyce Stotts, age 87, of Ulen, MN, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Sanford Broadway, Fargo, ND.

Joyce Darlene Peterson was born in Ulen, MN, on May 4, 1932, to the parents of Arthur and Emma (Holte) Peterson. Joyce grew up in the Ulen community and attended school there. She moved with her family to California where she had helped her parents run their café. On June 1, 1949, Joyce was united in marriage to Charles Stotts in Long Beach, California. The couple had made their home in La Mirada for over 45 years. During that time, they were blessed with 4 children. Joyce had worked for Nabisco as a food inspector until she retired. In 1995, Joyce and Chuck moved back to Ulen to be near their son, Jim and his family. In 2017, they moved into a local senior living complex. After Chuck's death on July 26, 2018, Joyce had continued to make her home there since.

Joyce was active in the Bethlehem Circle, Ulen Senior Center and the Bethlehem Quilters for many years. After Jim's death, Chuck and Joyce were active with the Food Pantry Ministry. She had a passion to travel with Chuck and her family. She appreciated spending time at their cabin in the mountains, gardening, watching the Minnesota Twins, cooking and enjoying happy hour with her friends. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two children, Mike (Cherie) Stotts of Auburn, CA, and Patti McRae of Mission Viejo, CA; daughter-in-law, Brigid (Greg) Stotts-Pender of Ulen, MN; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and four great great- grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; their two sons, Brian Jay and James; son-in-law, Bob McRae; three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ulen, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
