Joyce Harman, age 84, of Twin Valley, MN, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Benedictine Care Community of Ada.

Joyce Elaine Rustman was born on August 2, 1942, in Tyler, MN, to Mathew and Eunice (Scott) Rustman. She grew up in Russell, MN, where she attended school until she left to care for her siblings and help on the family farm after her mother fell ill.

At the age of 16, Joyce began working at an egg plant in Marshall, MN, where she remained for several years before moving to Worthington, MN, to work at Campbell Soup Company. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Larry Harman. The couple married in 1963 and spent the early years of their marriage moving across the country while raising their three sons: Tim, LeRoy, and Kevin.

Over the years, Joyce held various jobs, including positions at Job Connection, Totino’s, and Alter Pack, always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. She and Larry eventually settled in Lake Poinsett, SD, before relocating to Twin Valley, MN, in the early 2000s to live with their son, Kevin.

Joyce had a deep love for her family and always put them first. She took great pride in maintaining her home, tending to her beautiful rose bushes and flower gardens, and preserving food through canning. An avid outdoorswoman, she enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake. Her faith was an essential part of her life, she began each day by reading her Bible and listening to church hymns. She was a proud member of the Good News Congregation in Gary, MN. Joyce also had a talent for quilting and cherished the time she spent creating handmade baby blankets for loved ones. In her younger years, she was a Girls’ Missionary Guide in Anoka, MN, demonstrating her lifelong commitment to helping and uplifting others. With her warm, friendly, and generous nature, Joyce was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Joyce is survived by her son, Tim Harman; daughter-in-law, Deb Harman; grandchildren: Kayla, Jamie, Naomi, Tadd, and Keith; brothers: Jim, Mathew, and Arvin “Luke”; sisters: Marti, Mary, and Myrna; and very special friends, Tim and Kristin Gilbertson and their children: Lilly, Abby, Noah, Candace, and Jonah.

Joyce was greeted in heaven by her husband, Larry Harman; beloved sons, LeRoy Harman and Kevin Harman; parents, Mathew and Eunice; brothers: John, Tommy, Ronnie, Mick, and Lester; and sisters, Janice, Barbara, Cindy, and Sharon; and special adopted grandson, Robert.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Good News Fellowship Church, Gary, MN.
