John Todd Fassino, 57, Hendrum, MN, passed away on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Sanford Health Care in Fargo, ND.

His stay in the Hospital was lengthy and he courageously improved with many setbacks. Until he was laid to rest and the pain was gone. All that loved him were there during his times of need.

He (Nickname "Feez") was born to the late Jack Fassino and Shirley (Nyman) in Dodgeville, WI. December 16, 1957. After attending Elementary and High Schools throughout Wisconsin he received his Diploma from JE Murphy High School in 1976. He then attended the University of Wisconsin Superior for 3 years while working at a local grocery store in Superior, WI. At the City Market he met Elyse Dinda and they were united in marriage on the chilly day of October 24, 1981, at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Superior, WI.

John worked for the company DMS Health Technologies for over 28 years where he was well known and dedicated his time by perfecting customer relations. He was an avid story teller for his children and grandson Ames. He also was a handyman (electrician, plumber, and mechanic), butcher, avid hunter, enjoyed river and lake fishing, becoming a pro at flipping for Bass and was the best at catching bull frogs. John's passion was cooking and became known by his family as "Chef John". He has always been a Green Bay Packer Fan, GO PACK GO! He always took time to play catch with a football inside (bad daddy) or outside (good daddy)! He enjoyed Bon Fires (was a pyro), playing darts, pool, and cards. Favorite food was Angel Hair Pasta and Shrimp. Favorite pizza joint was The Liberty Bell Chalet in Hurley, WI where he ordered a large sausage, mushroom, and black olive pizza. Favorite drinks were Coke, Root beer, Lemon Aide, and Sun Tea! He will always be remembered as a CHEVY MAN!

John leaves behind his wife, Elyse and three children Blake (son Ames and his mother Alexis Holte), Shaylyn (fiancé- Bill Lange) Brainerd, MN, and Taylor (boyfriend- Tanner Voorhies); his mother, Shirley Fassino, of Hendrum; sister Rene' (Tobin) Avery, Three Lakes, WI; nephew Bret Schneider (fiancé- Darci Roller, children Beau and Dakota); uncle Dee Dee (Janet "Pretty One") Fassino; favorite mother-in-law, Doris Dinda, Superior, WI; brothers-in-law, Mark (Pat) Dinda, Steven (Cheryl) Dinda; nephew Garrett (Krystle) Dinda, children- Brody and Gabrielle; and many cousins, friends, and pets Dipstick and Baxter. He is preceded in death by his father Jack Fassino and father-in-law Bernard Dinda.

Funeral Service: 11:00AM, Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum, MN.

Visitation: 4-8PM, Monday with a 7PM Prayer Service at the Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.
