Jociey "Jan" Janell Kurz, 70, Beltrami, MN, died Sunday, September 3, 2017, at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND, with family by her side.

Jan was born on April 11, 1947 in Fort Blackmore, VA, the daughter of Arthur & Maggie (Vicker) Begley. She attended Fort Blackmore Elementary School followed by Dungannon High School up until 10th grade after which she became a nanny for her nephew's in Washington D.C.

In 1965, Jan married Raymond Razmyslowski. From that union they had three sons, Michael, Raymond Jr., and Robin. In 1979, Jan married David Kurz. From that union they had three sons, Joe, David, and Frank. In 1986, Jan found the love of her life, Ralph Menke. They built their life together on the farm in rural Beltrami, MN with all their dogs. Jan had a various employment history, primarily focusing on nursing and caring for others. Jan cared dearly for her family and friends. She was the type of woman that would give the shirt off her back and would do anything for her children even though she could choke them (Jan's words). Jan was a very "feisty" woman who was known for speaking her mind. Jan will be deeply missed by family & friends.

Jan is survived by the love of her life, Ralph Menke, Beltrami, MN, her children, Michael Razmyslowski, Fosston, MN, Raymond (Sheila) Razmyslowski, Climax, MN, Robin Razmyslowski, Moose Lake, MN, Joe Razmyslowski  (Jenni Munson), Fertile, MN, Frank Kurz (Jordan Blokzyl), Moorhead, MN, her grandchildren, Chistina Klooz (John Katz), Shanel (Ryan) Bohnenstingl, Scott Razmyslowski, Brianna Razmyslowski, Kylie Hoglund, Erika Razmyslowski, Dallas Kurz, Lindsey Kurz, Mariah Kurz, Logan Kurz, great-grandchildren, Landon, Joshua, Clara, Jakody, Silas, Kolbie, Rylee, Odi, siblings, Louada Dinges, Linis Begley, Lester Begley, Sidney Begley, James Begley, Jerry Begley, Gilbert Begley, William Begley, along with several nieces and nephews. Jan is also remembered by special people, Lola & Gene Dudgeon, Alice & Keith Simon, and Arlo Menke.

She is preceded in death by her son, David Kurz, great-granddaughter, Scarlette Razmyslowski, her siblings, Ruth, Laura, and Larry, her parents, Arthur & Maggie Begley.

Funeral: 11:00AM Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Resurrection Free Lutheran Church, Beltrami, MN.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00PM Wednesday, September 6, 2017 with a 6:30PM prayer service at Erikson-Vik-Ganje Funeral Home, Fertile.

Burial: Fairview Cemetery, rural Beltrami, MN.
