Joanne Dahlin, age 81, of Ada, MN, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018.

Joanne Shirley (Stromberg) Dahlin was born January 27, 1937, the daughter of Olivia Stromberg Church and Emil B.R. Stromberg (Ellen) in Fargo, ND. She graduated from school in Amenia, ND. On May 23, 1953, Joanne married Richard "Dick" Dahlin in Amenia, ND. The couple made their home for a short time in Fargo, ND before moving to Prosper, ND.  In 1959, they moved to Ada, MN.  The couple were long time members of Immanuel-Pleasant View Lutheran Church until joining Grace Lutheran Church in Ada. Dick preceded Joanne in death on June 11, 2006.

Joanne was a stay at home mom and rightly earned the title of "Queen of Fun." She was a wonderful mother and homemaker.  After Dick's retirement, the couple worked at the Cenex C-Store in Ada for 12 years.  Joanne was an election judge for many years, with a strong, patriotic spirit. She loved her Minnesota Timberwolves, Twins, and Vikings.  Joanne enjoyed camping with Dick and time spent with family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was active in Ada's Senior Center, Bone Builders, TOPS, Bible Study, Friends of the Library, and was a member of the Norman County Historical Society, as well as a member of the "2-3" Prayer Group for over 46 years. She enjoyed Birthday Club and Senior Breakfasts, and taught Sunday School, Bible School, and Release Time. "I love to tell the stories of Jesus to children." Joanne was an Ada girl and loved her friends and community.

Joanne is survived by her three sons, Paul (Joan) of Rollag, MN, and David (Diane) Fargo, ND, Bruce (Lynette) of Bemidji, MN, daughter Jill (Greg) Dvergsten of Thief River Falls, MN, honorary daughter Linda Beth (Shannon), Thief River Falls, MN, two sisters, Elaine Desautel, Harrison, ID, Pauline (Tim) Snyder, Liberty Lake, WA; three brothers, Rodney Stromberg, Phoenix, AZ, Dale (Janet) Stromberg, Saint Maries, ID, and Brad (Rita) Stromberg; Springfield, OR, 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters Gloria Sauers and Carol Schoon.

The family wishes to thank Joanne's friends for their support, friendship, prayers, calls, and car rides, and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their care and guidance.

Funeral: 11:00AM Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church, in Ada.

Visitation: Friday, August 31 ^st from 5:00-7:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30pm at the Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
