Obituary

JoAnn Mary Booth was born May 5, 1938 to Worth and Vivian (Kiefer) Booth in Wadena, MN. She lived in the Moorhead area during her youth and moved to Ulen with her family in the early 1950's.

JoAnn was united in marriage to Lawrence Pollock on May 9, 1953. She spent many wonderful years helping on the farm, tending her yard and garden, and raising their five children.

JoAnn enjoyed cooking and was well known for her wonderful homemade buns, cinnamon rolls, and doughnuts. She loved history and enjoyed traveling the south and touring the old antebellum mansions. She loved having her family around and treasured the times when her house was full of children and laughter.

JoAnn had a quick wit and was known to pull the occasional practical joke. She laughed quickly, loved fully, and enjoyed life.

JoAnn died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at her home in Ulen at the age of 73.

JoAnn is survived by her five children; Wanda (Jim) Ashmore of Ulen, MN, Benita (Dean) Olson of Lake Park, MN, Larry (Kara) Pollock of Georgetown, MN, Loren (Lori) Pollock of Alta Vista, KS and Cathy (Leonard) Lackmann of Englewood, FL; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" (Merlin) Burda of Twin Valley, MN.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Pollock, her brother Loren Booth, and her sister Marlene "Sis" Haeffner.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ulen. Visitation were Thursday, from 5-7 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30 at the church. Visitation was also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Officiating was Pastor Steve Dahl with Susan Green serving as organist. Vocalists was Melissa Soodsma and Susan Green. Pallbearers were Kent Burda, Mandy Booth, Steve Pollock, Glenda Rikhus, Mark Pollock and Sarah Lee.

Burial was in North Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen.
