Johanna "Jo" Krueger, age 80, of Waubun, MN, died Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Jo was born August 7, 1944, in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Walter and Muriel (Phelps) Asp.  She attended school in Goodridge, MN, and graduated with the Class of 1962.  Following high school, Jo entered the workforce and began working as a waitress.  She met Larry Krueger and the two were united in marriage in Thief River Falls on September 14, 1963.  Later that year the young couple moved to South Dakota and Jo worked as a housekeeper.  In the fall of 1966, Larry and Jo settled in Twin Valley, MN, where they raised their family.  Over the years, Jo was a hard worker and in addition to tending to their children, she waitressed, worked the potato fields during harvest, then helped Larry at the Standard Station and also with the scrap metal business, often driving truck and being on the road crushing cars.  Most recently before retiring, Jo was a friendly face at the family business, KBI Building Supply in Twin Valley.

Jo had many activities that kept her busy and active.  She really enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors all year round as she went snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, camping and in more recent years, relaxing time spent on the pontoon.  Jo also liked to play bingo, work jig saw puzzles,and play cards.  In her earlier years, Jo's enthusiasm was being on a bowling league, then she and Larry enjoyed traveling, making it to all 50 states.  In their retirement years, they spent their winters in Texas. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jo is survived by her husband, Larry of Waubun; sons, Kelvin (Margie) Krueger and Chad Krueger both of Twin Valley; a daughter, Darla (Mark) Pollock also of Twin Valley; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Asp of Thief River Falls, MN, and Jonathan Asp of Roosevelt, MN, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a great granddaughter, Tiffany; brothers: Jim Asp, Frank Asp and infant Walter Asp Jr.; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Caroline (Kenneth) Carlson and Veradeen (Arnie) Christensen.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Twin Valley, MN.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 30th  from 5:00 -7:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley and continue one hour prior at the church.
