Obituary

Jennifer "Frog" Burnette, age 36, of Naytahwaush, MN died on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at First Care Hospital in Fosston, MN.

Jennifer M Burnette, the daughter of Julie (Burnette) Keezer and Gary Keim, was born on March 27, 1978 at her grandmother's home in Naytahwaush. Jennifer, who was tenderly known as Frog to her family, grew up in the Naytahwaush community. She attended school in Naytahwaush and later at Mahnomen High School. Jennifer spent many years in a relationship with Thomas King, Sr., and together they were blessed with three children. Jennifer worked for a time as a slot attendant at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. She enjoyed doing birch bark and beadwork crafts. Due to her nickname, Jennifer had collected a variety of frog keepsakes which had been given to her over the years. Jennifer also loved to cook and go leeching with family and friends.

Jennifer is survived by her children: Shayna King, Thomas King Jr., and Robert King; her mother, Julie Keezer; one brother, Roger (Melinda) Burnette; her maternal grandma, Ada Burnette; uncles: Shane Burnette, Shannon Burnette, Terrance Burnette, George Accobee and Merle Bush; a very close cousin, Donovan Burnette; several nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary; maternal grandpa, Edward S Burnette Sr.; uncle, Edward "Butch" Burnette; cousin, Wally Burnette; and several other cousins.

An all-night visitation was held from 5:00pm on Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Old Community Center in Naytahwaush until 10:00am on Tuesday. Funeral Services were held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Samuel Memorial Episcopal Church in Naytahwaush, with Reverend Jackie Bernacci officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Melinda Auginaush, Lori Bush, Kelsy Born, Gina Lang, Casey Brown, and Rita Swenson. Honorary bearers were Shayna, Thomas and Robert; Donovan Burnette, and all of Jennifer's nieces and nephews. Burial took p;ace in the Samuel Memorial Cemetery in Naytahwaush.
