Watch Jenna's Memorial Service

Jenna Erin RaeAnn Askelson, 32, of Audubon, MN, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.  She will be remembered as a vibrant and adventurous soul who brough light and laughter to everyone she met.  Jenna's spirit will live in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.

Jenna was born on July 20, 1992, to David Tufte and Betti Jo (Askelson) Tangen in Fargo, ND.  She was a bright and vibrant spirit who touched the lives of so many.  Jenna grew up in the Hawley and Felton, MN, areas and was a graduate of Ada-Borup High School in 2011.  During high school, she was active in sports including softball and volleyball.  After graduation, Jenna attended Rasmussen College in Fargo.  She loved going to church in Ada with her grandma and visiting with all her grandparents' friends and loved visiting with the elderly.  Jenna had a passion for animals and loved her cats in addition to all the animals on the farm.  As a small girl, you could always find her curled up with a kitten or a puppy.  Jenna loved going to her uncle Donald's farm and seeing the cows and sheep.  She loved all things girly, especially anything pink.  She loved to fish, shop and listen to music as music truly was her therapy.  Jenna shared her love of the Beatles with her mother and one of her greatest memories was going to see Paul McCartney on her birthday.  Jenna was very artistic and crafty and could make so many different things to wear or display in her house.  She truly had an eye for fashion and loved to wear it all.  Jenna embraced being an aunty to her two favorite boys, Kyser and Maverick and loved spending time with them.

Jenna is survived by her parents, Betti Jo (Daren) Tangen of Hawley, MN, David Tufte of Horace, ND, and Danny Peebles also of Hawley; her siblings: Cierra Jo (Tory) of West Fargo, ND, Whitney of Minneapolis, MN, Daniel and Wyatt of Hawley; grandparents, Doug and Judy Tufte of Audubon; uncles, Scott (Jana) Askelson of Lake Park, MN, and Todd Askelson of Felton, MN; aunties, Lori (Richard) Pladson of Hatton, ND, and Sheila Tufte of Fargo in addition to many cousins.  Jenna is preceded in death by her grandparents, Clair and Sharon Askelson whom she deeply cared for and missed dearly.  We know they lovingly greeted her at the gates of Heaven with open arms.

A time of gathering will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Felton, MN. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
