Jenene "Jean"
Mayberry
May 16, 1967 — Mar 23, 2026
Mahnomen
Jenene "Jean" Mayberry, age 58, of Mahnomen, MN, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
Jenene Adair Clark was born on May 16, 1967, in Park Rapids, MN, to Glenn and Pearl Clark. She attended school in Park Rapids and later proudly earned her GED. Jean continued her education at the technical college in Detroit Lakes, where she studied culinary arts and later pursued nursing. In her younger years, she worked at Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, MN, before dedicating herself to her home and raising her family.
Family was the heart of Jean's life. She was blessed with three children: Corinne, Anthony, and Brandy. On February 22, 1991, she married her soulmate, Doyle Mayberry, and lovingly welcomed his son, Johnny, into her family. Jean took great joy in caring for her children and treasured her role as a grandmother. Over the years, many others came to know her as "Mom" or "Grandma," a reflection of the love she so freely gave. She also cherished time spent with her extended family, especially at large gatherings where she enjoyed preparing family favorites, including her beloved pies.
Jean had a kind and generous heart and was always ready to help anyone in need. She created countless spontaneous memories traveling across the United States with family and friends. In her younger years, she enjoyed crafting, and later in life, she found comfort in relaxing while watching cooking shows. She also enjoyed trying her luck gambling, especially playing Keno.
Jean is survived by her partner of 35 years, Doyle; children: Johnny (Cheryl) Mayberry, Corinne (Tony) Cochrane, Anthony DeVall, and Brandy (Thomas) Lee; several grandchildren; brother, Glenn (Angela) Clark; special aunt and uncle, Darrel and Caroll "Cookie" Clark; and many extended family.
Jean was preceded by an infant child; siblings, Kevin "Midnight" Clark Sr. and Patricia Clark; and granddaughter, Aaliyah Clark.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen, MN. A Time of Gathering will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
