Jeffrey "Jeff" Keezer, age 53, of rural Waubun, MN, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Jeffrey Scott was born August 25, 1972, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Kenneth and Susan (Anderson) Keezer Sr. When Jeff was two, the family moved to the Park Rapids, MN, area and he started school in Osage, MN. Then in 1979, they settled in Elbow Lake Village and Jeff attended school in Waubun. He graduated from Waubun High School with the Class of 1990. Following high school, he entered the workforce and began working for BLM (Bureau of Land Management). While living in Detroit Lakes with Tammy Bunker and her daughter, Samantha, the couple was blessed with two sons, Derek and Devan. After some time, Jeff moved back to the White Earth Reservation and was employed by the White Earth Nation RBC as a surveyor. He later worked at the Shooting Star Casino in maintenance, Pet Care Systems in Detroit Lakes, followed by North Star Bin Builders. Jeff spent several years with Shana Keezer and together they raised three daughters and Shana's son, James. As a devoted and caring dad, Jeff's recent focus was providing care for his youngest daughter, Porsha.
Jeff was easy going with a wonderful sense of humor. He was always cracking funny comments and could make you laugh. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, cooking and cleaning with Norwex products. Jeff will be remembered as a talented artist who enjoyed drawing, painting and doing crafts. Some of his most recent projects included several drawings, a set of rice knockers and a diamond willow cane. Jeff also liked fixing and tinkering on engines and could build and put together almost anything. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time spent with all of them. He will be missed by many.
Jeff is survived by daughters: Brenna Keezer, Brooke Keezer and Porsha Keezer; step-daughter, Samantha Keezer; sons, Devan (Zeegwunikay Warren) Keezer and James Goodman; nine grandchildren: Ezekiel, KenTrell, Maliyah, Zaiden, Victor, Derek, Devan Jr., Jazznlyn and Nindaanis; mother, Susan Keezer; sister, Terrie Sue Keezer; brother, Kenneth "Beep" (Lois) Keezer Jr.; mother of James and his girls, Shana Keezer; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Kenneth Keezer Sr.; son, Derek Keezer; and two brothers, Timothy Keezer and Robert Keezer.
