Jeff
Lunde
Dec 21, 1971 — Dec 1, 2018
Flom
Jeff Lunde, age 46, of Flom, MN died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Essentia Health St. Mary's in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Jeffrey David Lunde was born on December 21, 1971 to David and Diane Lunde at Detroit Lakes Hospital. As a young boy, Jeff was baptized and confirmed at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Waubun, MN. He attended school in Waubun, graduating with the Class of 1990. After furthering his education at Alexandria Technical College, he began working at the Winger Implement until he purchased his farm near Flom, MN. That's when he began working on the farm full time including helping his Grandpa Orlando and his Uncle Arlen at Lunde Blade and Gravel. On May 20, 2000 Jeff married Jodi (Donner) Lunde. They were blessed with two daughters, Hadlie born in 1998 and Wylie born in 2001. In the winter of 2005, Jeff met Nicci. It took him eight years but he finally proposed to her on her birthday. They were married August 9, 2014. They were blessed with two children, Katherine born in 2007, and Kase in 2009.
From a young age, Jeff knew his life's work would be farming. He spent many hours working on the farm alongside his dad and Uncle Gary. You never saw him happier than when he was in a tractor. Farming wasn't a job to Jeff but a way of life. He firmly believed in the values and beliefs of farming and lived those values and beliefs every single day of his life. He was the first to help anyone in need or lend a helping hand and would give the shirt off his back. He believed in treating everyone with respect and taking the high road.
The greatest loves of Jeff's life were his family, especially his kids. Jeff was always a daily and active presence in their lives. Whether attending many school activities, a phone call for advice or help with "simple" fixes, he was there. He was a fun, loving dad who often teased them and joked around with them! He also instilled in them a love of his hobbies. Ice fishing, hunting, and riding Ranger were family affairs. Most of the time, he had not one but all of his kids with him. He was the BEST dad!!!!!!!
It's hard to sum up a man such as Jeff with a simple obituary. He was bigger than life, and was a friend to all! He played hard, worked hard, and most importantly loved hard. He was very active in the Flom community. He had a hand in everything from Aspelund Lutheran Church to the Flom Community Club. He was proud of the community he lived in and wanted to see it thrive. Jeff's signature cackle, and smile will be missed by all who knew him.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Nicci; his daughter, Hadlie, and her boyfriend, Cody Price, who over the past few years has become like a son to him; his daughters, Wylie and Katherine; his son, Kase; his parents, Dave and Diane Lunde; sisters, Brenda (Branden) Norris, Cindy (Brock) Blakeway, and Chrissy (Beau) Jacobson; brother, Jason (Mindy) Lunde; mother-in-law, Cindy Roering; brother-in-law, Luke Skansgaard (Alison Green); father-in-law, Mark (Lynn) Skansgaard; as well as many nieces and nephews, adopted "2nd" kids and many friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Orlando and Norma Lunde and Gorden and Veronica Haverkamp; his nephew, Isaac Lunde; uncle, Arlen Lunde; and father-in-law, Clayton Roering.
