Jearl Henderson, age 72, of Fertile, MN, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Diamond Willow in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Jearl (Jay) Wayne Henderson was born on August 28, 1952, in Ada, Oklahoma to Herbert and Thelma Henderson. He joined 5 other children and two more would join the family shortly after. Growing up he worked on the farms with his family then worked on power lines until he was electrocuted, and one leg was amputated. That never stopped Jay from working hard and making a living for his families. Jay lived in Oklahoma, Minnesota and Oregon. He loved karaoke (both running a business and singing) and stock car racing, he even raced dirt track in the late 70's early 80's. While he was a jack of all trades, driving semi-trucks was his primary source of income most of his life, he has driven all over the country. Being the master mechanic he was, he was able to share his skills and knowledge with others who were willing to listen. He could find anyone to talk to about anything, told the best stories (whether they were true or not) and had the best humor / "dad" jokes. Jay was the happiest when his children and grandchildren were around.

Jay is survived by his 4 daughters, Tommi, Terri, Stormy and Angela; 7 stepchildren from previous marriages; and 27 grand and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Charles (Glenda), Steven, and Betty (Bruce). Jay also had quite a few cousins, and nieces and nephews that he loved to visit with.

Jearl was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bud, Larry and Kenneth; sister, Virginia; and sister-in-law, Cheryl.
