Obituary

Jason Carter Christianson, the son of Archie and Caroline (Michaels) Christianson was born on April 14, 1958, in Crookston, MN. He grew up northeast of Gary, MN at Bear Park Store, and attended school in Fertile, MN. Following his graduation in 1976, Jason spent most of his adult years living in Crookston. For many years, he worked for the Occupational Development Center, which proudly gave him a little money in his pocket. He was a familiar face around the Crookston community and loved to visit the local eating establishments with friends, especially RBJ's and the Rainbow House. He was also known to occasionally indulge with his favorite treats, a Bismarck donut and a Mountain Dew. In 2012, following a hospitalization, Jason moved to Chaska to live with his sister, Vicky, after which he moved to Divine House in Watertown, MN. The Divine House provided Jason with many new friends and the wonderful opportunity to work with the recycling program at the Adult Training and Habilitation Center. As his favorite pastime continued to be eating out, Jason was a frequent patron of the Golden Dragon, Perkins, and Famous Dave's restaurants while living in Chaska and Watertown. In his quiet time, Jason could often be found listening to music or watching the old familiar movies of John Wayne, Andy Griffith and The Rifleman. Jason was an avid Minnesota Twins Fan and always took time to catch a game, on TV or at the stadium, whenever he was able. He truly loved his family and looked forward to family get-togethers, the Polk County Fair, and his birthday party every year. He also cherished his time at the lake and sitting around the campfire. Jason had a deep relationship with his Lord and talked openly with and about Jesus. After living with both mental and physical illness, Jason was welcomed into Heaven on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, under the care of hospice and his loving family. His warm smile and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

Jason is survived by four sisters: Rosalind (Dennis) Sannes of Gary, Victoria (Donald) Kukowski of Chaska, Pamela Nissen of Columbia Heights, MN, and Stephanie (Timothy) Solie of Coon Rapids, MN; a brother, Douglas (Merrilee) of Mazeppa, MN; and a half-brother, Mack (Jan) Evans of Elysian, MN; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Caroline; nephews, Justin Kukowski and Mark Muenkel; and a great-nephew, Jaden Karsten.

In honor of Jason's love of the Minnesota Twins, his family invites anyone attending the service to wear Twins apparel.
