Obituary

Janice Diane Mosher passed away on January 31, 2020 at her home, with her family, in Beltrami, MN.

Janice Diane Mosher was born on May 22, 1943 at Bethesda Hospital in Crookston, MN to Ralph and Gladys (Rongen) Haugen.

Jan graduated from Fertile High School in 1961. After high school she attended the TRF Technical School taking up cosmetology. She began in August of 1962 and graduated on June 6, 1963. She worked at a shop in Bemidji and one in Crookston. On October 6, 1962 she married her high school sweetheart Harlan "Red" Mosher. They married at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fertile. They made their home on the farm in Beltrami. She worked at the "Magic Mirror" under Olive Williams. She started her own beauty shop in her home called "Style with a Smile" in 1968 with her customers becoming a part of her family. She gave her last haircut to her son Chad the Sunday before she passed away – 58 years later.

Jan served on the church council at Trinity Lutheran Church as Vice President, Secretary and Deacon, also Co-President on WELCA.

Jan loved sports. She was one of her grandkids biggest fans. She loved watching the Minnesota Timberwolves, Lynx, Vikings and Minnesota Twins.
She loved music and loved to dance, especially with her twin brother John. She passed her dance talents down to all her granddaughters and great-granddaughter.

She was an amazing trampolinist and loved gymnastics. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, especially with her grandchildren. Her family was her life and making memories was something she cherished most. Grandma Jan wouldn't miss any birthday party, game, concert, or any other event the grandchildren were involved in.
Jan was known for her videos and pictures. She wanted to capture EVERY special memory, one being playing "Grandma Santa" and making every holiday, birthday and anniversary special. She was a fantastic cook and an expert at canning and making jelly and jam. She took pride in her yard and her beautiful flowers. Her house could be seen for miles with all the lights at Christmas.

Jan will be remembered as a fighter, starting in 1999 with her heart disease, multiple stints, bypasses, cardiac arrest and pacemaker/defibrillator. In 2015 she had a heart pump installed with her last diagnosis of lung cancer on December 12, 2019. She appreciated her sister Ruthie being by her side, and being her personal "nurse" since 2015.

Janice is survived by her husband, Harlan "Red"; her 3 sons, Guy (Rochelle Choate) Mosher, Chad (Donna) Mosher, and Tyler (Missy) Mosher; grandchildren, Tony (Jess) Mosher, Andrea (Matt) Johnson, Devin (Tina) Mosher, Presley (Anna Macy) Mosher, Tate (Haley) Mosher, Kennedy (Tyler Ellegaard) Mosher, Mitchell (Emily Sunram) Mosher, Raven, Eva, Tyson and Gabby; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Ryder, Charlee, Jack, Hannah, Mila, Emmett and Everlee; siblings, Ruth, Rex, Orlen, twin brother John and Roger; and many nieces and nephews.
