Obituary

Jane Tibbetts, age 82, of Ogema, MN, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, MN.

Jane Maureen Clark was born June 27, 1935, to Michael and Alice (Heisler) Clark in White Earth, MN. Her early childhood years were spent attending Kay's Corner School in White Earth, MN, followed by high school in Waubun. On September 24, 1954, Jane was united in marriage to Elmer Tibbetts. The couple made their home in Minneapolis, MN, for a short time before returning to Ogema. They were blessed with three children: Eugene, Linda and Jeffrey. Over the years, Jane worked as a cook at both the Circle of Life School and the White Earth Chemical Dependency Program. She also worked at the Ogema Liquor Store and she and Elmer managed the Corner Bar in Ogema.

Jane was a member of the St. Benedict's Catholic Church and its ladies aid, helping out whenever possible. She loved sewing, crocheting, cooking & baking. In her spare time, she enjoyed the company of family and friends, playing Bingo and watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds. Back in the day, Jane spent countless hours traveling and seeing the country with Elmer as an over the road truck driver. Jane lovingly cared for Elmer at home until she moved to the nursing home in June of 2017.

Jane is survived by her husband, Elmer; two sons, Eugene (Rosella) Tibbetts Sr. and Jeffrey (Jodi) Tibbetts, both of Ogema; a daughter, Linda (Juan) Oveido, of Leslie, MI; eight grandchildren: Eugene (Lori) Tibbetts Jr., Brittany Tibbetts, Michael Tibbetts, Natalie Tibbetts, Kyle Tibbetts, Drayton Tibbetts, Juan Oveido Jr. and Justin Oveido; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia (Ken) Keogh of Duluth, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Gene Clark, Mikey Clark and Raymond Clark, and sister, Alice Hogan.
