James Yarbrough, age 60, of Ulen, MN, died Thursday, February 23, 2017, in his home.
James Clyde Yarbrough, the son of Herbert and Donna (Bakke) Yarbrough, was born on July 4, 1956, in Fargo, ND. He was raised on the family farm near Hitterdal, MN. As a young boy, James attended grade school in Hitterdal and later graduated from Ulen-Hitterdal High School with the class of 1974. Later that year, James married Diane Klemetson and they were blessed with three children: Amy, Andrew and Jarod. The family lived in Hitterdal for four years before making their home in Ulen. James worked at Sears in Fargo for a short time after which he worked for a time at Cenex in Ulen. In the early 1980's, he began his career with Braseth Construction where he was employed for many years. James also worked with Z Mega Farms for a few years. He was a true handyman who could fix nearly anything. He loved to tinker with and spent hours on his motorcycles, cars, or any other project he could find. James also liked to be in the outdoors, especially enjoying both hunting and fishing.
James is survived by his children: Amy (Al) Gulseth and Jarod, both of Moorhead, MN, and Andrew (Andrea) of Ulen; six grandchildren: Bailee, Conner, Addison, Mason, Marrin, and Somer; two brothers, Terry of Ulen and Randy (Darla) of Bemidji; five sisters: Diane (Kenny) Burnside of Ulen, Susan (Ron) Braseth of Dilworth, MN, Karen (Don) Wisk of Detroit Lakes, MN, Joyce (Wayne) Jacobson also of Detroit Lakes, and Joni (Larry) Blixt of Amenia, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a Time of Gathering from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, with an informal service at beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley.
