James G. Sargent, age 72, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Sunday, June 6, 2010 in the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley.
James Glen Sargent was born October 29, 1937, the son of Marvin and Stella (Dyczewska) Sargent in Chicago, Illinois. He was baptized in the Roman Catholic faith on September 11, 1938.
In Jim's life he wrote this personal reflection…
Foolishly quit school after 8th grade, but earned High School GED in the Navy. About 1981, I was able to take approximately 32 hours of college credits, unfortunately my work schedule at that time prevented continuation. If I had a single regret, it would be my lack of formal and full education. My greatest achievement would be having read the Bible (with study guides) completely through and with good understanding.
To some in my family I was/am considered the proverbial black sheep. If I were that, then I have rather'd enjoyed having the title. Though I am a law abiding citizen, my poor Guardian Angel has had an extremely rough time watching over me through the years. I have had my share PLUS, of life's experiences and I believe I am the better for it all. I feel strongly that it is in these challenging experiences that we mature and grow. In my adverse times during the years here, the LORD has kindly blessed me by making available some good friends in my hours of need. To HIM and them I owe plenty.
A Graveside Memorial Service was held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Twin Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Twin Valley. Pastor Charles Bade officiated and Military Honors were provided by the Twin Valley Nesseth-Lien Post #431 of the American Legion.
