James "Bimbo" Pergl, age 52, of Mahnomen, MN, died Friday, May 11, 2007, near Tappen, ND.

James Robert Pergl, Jr. was born January 5, 1955 the son of James and Delores (Wille) Pergl in Detroit Lakes, MN. He grew up in the Mahnomen area and attended Mahnomen High School. Bimbo later graduated from Detroit Lakes Technical College with training in welding. In 1978 he began a relationship with his lifetime companion, Rose Saice. Together the couple was blessed with one son, Dylan. Bimbo began trucking with Winter Truck Line of Mahnomen in the mid-1980's and in 1992 he began a career at the Shooting Star Casino. In the later 1990's, Bimbo returned to over the road trucking, hauling sugar and other commodities all over the United States. For the past several years, Bimbo drove for A&P Trucking Company of Mahnomen where he was able to work with his best friend of over 40 years, Keith Abdo.

Bimbo's passion in life was driving truck and was often out on the road. He was an avid Nascar fan who usually caught the Sunday race. He enjoyed visiting and telling stories to anyone around him. He loved to tease his family, especially when he could get Dylan's grandma, Viola, riled up. Bimbo was a proud father and truly treasured any time he was able to spend with his son.

He is survived by his companion, Rose Saice of Mahnomen; one son, Dylan Saice of Mahnomen; three brothers, Steve of Hillsboro, ND, Kenny of Mahnomen, and Dave of Mahnomen; two nephews, Jordan and Corey Pergl, both of Mahnomen; and two nieces, Heather Wang of Fertile and Shawna Pergl of Mahnomen; as well as Rose's family: Viola Saice, Debbie (Keith) Abdo, Liz (Gary) Knott, Sonny (Rose) Saice, Carol (LeRoy) Burnside, and many nieces and nephews.

Bimbo was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother, and Scott Saice.
