James (Jim) Allan LaGue of Orange Park, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the age of 58. Jim is predeceased by his mother, Jannette, and brother, Dave. He is survived by his father, Ted, his brothers, Gerald, Junior (Lois), and Greg (Sandy), his sons, Wade (Ariel), Jake (Samantha), and Garrick, and his grandchildren, Emma and Finn.
Jim was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. After graduating from Lisbon High School in Maine, he attended vocational school for carpentry in Minnesota. Jim then joined the Navy where he served for twenty-years. After retiring in 2000 as a Chief, he worked as a civilian restoring Naval aircrafts until his retirement in 2016.
Jim loved spending time with his friends at the VFW, sharing good conversation with his family over a steak or chimichanga, and visiting with his children and grandchildren. He rarely missed a walleye season in Minnesota with his father and frequently reminisced about the mischief he and his brothers got into while growing up.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Jim know that he was kind-hearted and generous. Over the years, he welcomed many people into his life and home, never turning down a friend in need. Jim was an exceptional friend, son, brother, Chief, and father. He will be remembered as a strong, funny, and trustworthy man, and a role model to all.
