Obituary

James Fredenburg, age 81, of St. Francis, Minnesota, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008, in his home.

James Albert Fredenburg was born March 23, 1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Clarence and Catherin (Turner) Fredenburg. James was raised in Minneapolis where he also attended school. In April 13, 1944, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving until his honorable discharge in May 4, 1946. After returning to Minneapolis, James was employed for several years for Minneapolis Plating. On April, 28, 1951 James was united in marriage to Dorothy Warnsholz in Iowa. The couple made their home in St. Paul, Minnesota. James was employed by Waterous Company for 33 years until his retirement in 1989. In 1990 the couple moved to Alexandria, Minnesota. They then moved to St. Francis in 1997 where he lived until the time of his death. Dorothy died March 21, 2000.

James loved to hunt, fish, trap, skeet shooting and was a member of the American Legion Post 118 of Wayzata, Minnesota.

James is survived by two daughters, Sandra (John) Borash of St. Paul, Minnesota and Sharon (Johnny Lee) Loomis of River Falls, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Jessica, Jim and his wife, Jill, Hawkens and Luke; one great-grandson, Jesse Lee; a brother, David (Gloria) Fredenburg of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; four sisters, Colleen (Donald) Stauffenecker of Plymouth, Minnesota, Elizabeth (Wilber) Dronen of Charleston, South Carolina, Joan Dee of Charleston, South Carolina and Patricia (Gary) Langlois of Richland, Washington.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Robert, two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 10:00 AM in St. John's Lutheran Church near Ada, Minnesota. Officiating was Pastor Arvid Salvhus with Lori Salvhus serving as organist and Dee Dee Grieve serving as vocalist. Pallbearers were John Petersen, Johnny Loomis, James Fritz, Jessica Gelbmann, Luke Loomis and Jesse Gelbmann. Military rites were provided by the Ada Veterans Honor Guard.

Interment were in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ada, Minnesota.
