Jacquar Rain "Jack" Burnette, age 21, of Naytahwaush, MN, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

Jack was born Jacquar Rain Burnette on May 13, 2004, the son of James Burnette Jr.  His elementary years were spent growing up in Naytahwaush where he and his sister, Kaylene, were cared for by their father, James Jr. and his partner, Amanda Alger, as well as grandparents, James Sr. and Carmen Burnette.  As an adolescent, he was adopted by Sherilyn and Greg and made his home in Bemidji.  He attended school at TrekNorth High School in Bemidji.  While in Bemidji, he met Brittany Fox and together they were blessed with a daughter, Nindaanis Ninde.  Nindaanis was the light of his life. With her, he found purpose in life and his world revolved around her.  He loved everything about being a dad to her.  Jack eventually moved back to Naytahwaush, where he met Mataya Alvarado and became part of her family. He was thrilled when he and Mataya learned they were expecting a baby and looked forward to the family they would be.  He was devastated when they lost baby Burnette.

In addition to spending time with and taking care of his daughter, Jack enjoyed playing video games, shooting some hoops at the complex, listening to music and being in the great outdoors.  He had a special bond with his grandpa, James and also with his honorary brother, Trey. Together, they played x-box, bean bags and pool.  Although Jack is gone from this life far too soon, he will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Jack leaves behind his daughter, Nindaanis Ninde; biological father, James Raymond Burnette Jr.; mother, Amanda Alger; adoptive parents, Sherilyn Warren and Greg Brumback; grandmas, Holly Alger and Judy Brumback; grandpa, Harold "Butch" Gordon; sisters: Kaylene Burnette, Heather Burnette, Carmen Burnette, Jackie Brumback, Leah Brumback and Izabel Brumback; brothers: James Burnette, Jayce Burnette, Aaron Brumback, Jeffrey Brumback, Alex Brumback, Thomas Westbrook and Rylie Defoe; honorary brother, Trey Beauchamp; nieces, Leilani Tiessen and Adela Burnette; nephew, Markus St. Clair Jr., aunts, Shari Burnette, Effie Burnette; and uncles, Simon Burnette and George Burnette. He was preceded in death by his great grandma, Thelma "Midge" Keezer, grandma, Gladys Gordon; grandparents, James and Carmen Burnette; aunt, Sasha Burnette; special friend, Joseph "Budda" Thompson and baby Burnette.
