Irene Sullivan, age 77, of Waubun, MN, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her home.

Irene C. Sullivan was born Sept. 23, 1939, in White Earth, MN, the daughter of Samuel and Laura (Boswell) Fairbanks. She was raised in the Elbow Lake community and graduated from the Waubun High School. As a young woman, Irene moved to the Minneapolis, MN, area where she was employed with Lakewood Publications for many years as a computer operator. She was later employed with the Radisson Corporation for several years. Following her retirement in 1996, Irene and her longtime companion, Richard Olson, moved back to the Waubun Community and have lived here ever since.

Irene loved to play Bingo and will long be remembered for her wonderful cooking. She always had time to visit with her friends and her cats were like a second family to her.

She is survived by her companion of 30 years, Richard Olson, and one brother, Clarence Fairbanks of Waubun, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Naytahwaush, MN. A time of gathering will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Naytahwaush.
