Ione Magnuson, 91, Moorhead, MN, formerly Grandin, ND, left us to be with Jesus on August 21, 2017, at her residence at Eventide Homes in Moorhead.

Ione Adair Magnuson was born Jan 6, 1926, in Shelly, MN to Melvin and Tillie Mickelson. She had 1 brother Gerald, and 2 sisters, Phyllis and Eunice (Mick) Hams. She attended school in Shelly and Halstad, MN.

Ione married Magnus Magnuson on October 3, 1942, and moved to the farm in Traill Co. ND. There they raised 5 children: Sig (Joyce) Magnuson of Minneapolis, MN, Earl (Deb) Magnuson of Fargo, ND, Gary (Annette) Magnuson of Fort Collins, CO. Tim (Sharon) Moorhead, MN, and Connie (John) Nygaard of Ocala, FL.

Along with being busy farming and raising five children she was very active with Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum, MN. She was active in Ladies Aid, Homemakers, and singing in the choir. She also sang with a trio and it has been said that they sang for over 100 services and funerals.

Ione had 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents (Melvin and Tillie), her husband (Magnus), her brother (Gerald), a son (Earl), and 2 grandchildren.

Memorial Service: 5:30PM Friday, August 25, 2017, at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Halstad, Minnesota.

Visitation: For one hour before the service at the funeral home.
