Imogene Deegan, age 55, of Mahnomen, MN, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the Mahnomen Health Center Hospital. Imogene Ellen was born on April 14, 1952 in White Earth to Ellen (Earth) and Charles Deegan Sr. She grew up and attended school in North Minneapolis, later continuing her education at OIC Technical School. Imogene worked various jobs through out her life. She spent many years as a housekeeper at the Lemington Hotel in downtown Minneapolis and often worked as a waitress at her sister?s restaurants. Imogene was also employed at the Marvin Window Factory for a time. In December of 2006, she moved back to Mahnomen to be near her family where she continued to make her home. In her spare time, Imogene loved to take care of her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends and going to the casino. Imogene also liked spending time outdoors, driving through the woods and sightseeing in the country. Imogene is survived by her significant other, Fred Striebow, Mahnomen; four brothers: Byron Deegan, Red Lake, MN; Eugene Deegan, Minneapolis, MN; David Deegan and James Deegan, both Mahnomen; a sister, Connie (Ron) Head, Minneapolis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and five sisters.
