Ilene Sorenson, 93, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Borup, MN, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.

Ilene Joy Deinhart was born August 7, 1924 in Blue Earth Township, MN, to Charles and Lillie (Gustafson) Deinhart. She attended school in Borup, MN. On October 14, 1940, Ilene married Oscar Sorenson in Ada, MN. In 1945, Oscar and Ilene started farming and in 1961, they moved the family to the Deinhart home place where she helped Oscar with raising livestock, milking, farming, gardening and anything else that needed to be done. In 1994, she moved to Glyndon, MN.

Ilene was an active member of Winchester Lutheran Church in Borup. She was a fabulous cook/baker with her specialty being cinnamon rolls!!! (Ask any grandchild).

Survivors include her four children: Janice (Larry) Kappes, Lake Nebagamon, WI; Jerry Sorenson, Clear Lake, MN; Connie (Butch) Barnes, Eden Prairie, MN; Steven (Marsha) Sorenson, Ottertail, MN; grandchildren: Nikki Sorenson, Omaha, NE; Jerod (Angie) Kappes, South Range, WI; Jason (Lisa Anderson) Sorenson, Blaine, MN; Tara (John) Burmood, New Richmond, WI; Brandie Barnes, Minnetonka, MN; Corey (Trish) Sorenson, West Fargo, ND; Austin Barnes, Minneapolis, MN; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. Ilene is also survived by a sister, Iva Jean (Roger) Iwen, Bothell, WA; sisters-in-law, Hannah Werpy, Ada, MN and Darlene Deinhart, Sumter, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Sherry Sorenson; infant son, DuWayne; two brothers, Peter and Merlyn; sister, Luella Busse, and an infant twin sister.

A special thank you to the staff at River Point in Moorhead, Eventide in Moorhead and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their excellent care they provided Ilene.

Funeral: 11:00AM Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Winchester Lutheran Church, Borup, MN.

Visitation: Tuesday, July 10 ^th from 5:00-7:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm at the Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
