Horacio "Lacho" Reyes, 54, Hendrum, MN, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Lacho Reyes was born November 29th 1960 in San Juan, Texas to Hilario and Celia (Chapa) Reyes. He was raised in San Juan with 13 brothers and sisters. At the age of 17 he would come to Minnesota with his brother Juan to work.

Soon after his arrival he would meet Deborah Houston, his life partner of 37 years. They would make their life in Hendrum and raise 3 children: Stephanie (Jeff) Johnson, Amanda (Kevin) Benson, and Michael Reyes (Ashley Stordahl). Lacho and Debbie would be blessed with 10 grandchildren through the years.


He worked as a mechanic and a farm hand for various farms including Terry Guttormson, Richards Bus Garage, and he was with R&J Farms for 19 years. He retired in 2003 due to illness. He enjoyed doing yard work at his home and his children's homes. A lot of enjoyment would be had on the 4th of July. Lacho loved Christmas time. He insisted on a lot of Christmas lights on all of the family's homes.


He is survived by Deborah, Stephanie, Amanda, Michael, their significant others, his grandchildren, Taylor, Cassandra, Dylan, Kevin Jr., Shane, Myla, David, Blake, Rubi, and Gregory. Also surviving are his siblings: Roble Lara, Jose (Toni+) Reyes, Danny Reyes, Rodolfo (Irma) Reyes, Juan (Guadalupe+) Reyes, Sylvia Cavazos, Gloria (Antonio) Delgadillo, Edilberto (Gina) Reyes, Mayla (Daniel) Villarreal, Dora (Antonio) Carrizales, Olga (Joseph McKeever) Reyes, Mirin (Karen) Reyes, many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, Keith (Denise) Halverson, and mother-in-law, Carol Halverson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ama Chela and father Apa Lallo, his brothers Carlitos and Clay, his brothers-in-laws Lolo and Martin, his niece Desteny Thompson, and family friend Rubi Garza.

Funeral: 10:00AM Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Halstad, MN.

Visitation: Monday from 2PM to 3PM, at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Halstad.
