Watch Babe's Memorial Service

Homer "Babe" Reese, age 94, from rural Fosston, MN, passed away on June 9, 2022 at his home.

Homer was born on May 26, 1928 in Olivia, MN.  He married Noella Desrosier on June 15, 1950 at St. Anne's in Crookston, MN.  They were married 71 years and 359 days.

Babe worked for American Linen and bartended at the Elks Club.  He was a custodian for the South Forks Plaza until he opened his own shop there, "Babe's Oxen Shop."  Then onto the Grand Forks Air Force Base where he did maintenance, before retiring in the Fosston area.

Homer is survived by his wife, Noella, Fosston;  a daughter, Jacqueline (Lonnie) Jeffrey, Grand Forks; five sons: Kerry, Thief River Falls, MN, Keenan, Fosston, Marty (Michelle), Grand Forks, Kevin (Denise), Apple Valley, MN, and Anthony (Rachel Dyrda), Omaha, NE; one daughter-in-law, Lori, Grand Forks; one sister, Lynn Bennice, Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Hugh Reese, Grand Forks; sister-in-law, Ella Derosier; and one brother-in-law, Ray Thoreson; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Obie and Daryle; one sister, Mavis Willert; and one son, Michael.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen, with a light lunch to follow.
