Hildora Olson, 93, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Benedictine Living Community, Ada, MN.

Hildora Margaret Othelia (Haugan) Olson was born the youngest of four daughters on April 10, 1923, to Anton and Mattie (Oien) Haugan. Hildora was born and lived most of her life on her family's farm in Anthony Township, MN. She graduated from the 8th grade in 1938, and enjoyed reading, baking, woodworking crafts, and needlework.

Hildora married Donald Olson on Thursday October 29, 1953 at East Marsh River Lutheran Church. They were blessed with three children, Margaret, David and John. Hildora worked at the Bakery in the Ada grocery store, and the Ada Creamery for several years. Together Donald and Hildora also established and ran two successful businesses – Olson Well Drilling of Halstad and Olson Furniture of Ada.

Hildora's faith was at the center of her life. She was a lifelong member of the East Marsh River Lutheran Congregation, where she was baptised, confirmed and married. Her involvement in the congregation continued as she became involved with the Ladies Aid and weekly Gideons bible study.

In addition to their faith, Donald and Hildora were devoted to square dancing, and were long-time members of Ada Valley Squares. Through square dancing, Donald and Hildora found many life-long friends who continue to support them and their family today.

Hildora was the pillar of her family, who all gained strength from her presence and wisdom. Her kindness, hugs, and love will be deeply missed.

Hildora has joined in heaven her loving husband Donald, her parents Anton and Mattie, and her sisters Alma Trandem, Nora Anderson, and Helen Hegerberg. Hildora is survived by sister-in-law Marvel Olson, children Margaret (Paul) Erickson, David Olson, John (Lisa) Olson, grandchildren Jennifer Steger, Amanda (Devon) Lindberg-Aganga, Eric Lindberg, Allison (Brian) Schild, Jennifer (Cory Knoblauch) Jensen, Evan Lindberg, Joshua Olson and six loving great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 16, 2016, 10:30 am at the East Marsh River Free Lutheran Church, rural Halstad, MN.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.

Burial will be at 4 PM in the St Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Lowry, MN.
