Henry "Hank" Lacina, Jr., age 76, of Fergus Falls, MN, formerly Mahnomen, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Henry James Lacina, Jr., was born on January 10, 1939, the only son to Henry and Elsie (Kortan) Lacina in Mahnomen, MN. He graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1957. Shortly after, he joined the Navy and became a gunner's mate, serving in Australia, Hawaii and Japan. After an honorable discharge in 1962, he settled in at Hopkins, MN. There he worked in a bakery and met his future wife, Gloria Muth. They married on June 15, 1963 in Cavalier, ND. The couple lived for a short time back in Hopkins before moving to Mahnomen, MN, where blessed with four children. After battling cancer, Gloria died in 1982. Hank then raised his young children. He worked for a time with Lee Electric in Mahnomen after which went to school to be an electrical journeyman.

Hank then began his career with Ottertail Power Company. On November 18, 1989, Hank married Ruth Eversoll. Following over 30 years of service, Hank retired from Ottertail in the early 2000's.   Ruth passed away in 2005 and a few years later Hank's health began to fail and he moved to living centers in Thief River Falls, MN then Fergus Falls, MN. Hank loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting and fishing. Photography was also a hobby Hank enjoyed. He had a special place in his heart for animals and took pride in caring for his pets. Hank was a regular at the Red Apple Café, always having his coffee and roll for breakfast. Hank especially enjoyed having a beer while laughing and sharing stories with friends. He was a true social butterfly and loved to visit with those around him.
Hank is survived by son, Michael (Alison) of Red Lake Falls, MN; daughters: Diane (Blair) Grossman of Cornell, WI, Susan (Kelly) Kvick of Thief River Falls, MN, and Patricia (Jason) Paul of Barnesville, MN; his sister, Alice Yost of Twin Valley, MN; and his nine grandchildren: Skylar Grossman, Alek, Calin and Anneke Lacina, Heather Einarson, Hailey and Dawson Kvick, Marcus and Alexis Paul; and three great grandchildren, Landyn, Noah and Paxtyn Einarson.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Gloria and Ruth, and one sister, Lillian Buschette.

Services were held at Anderson Family Funeral Home, Mahnomen, on Friday, January 8, 2016, at 2:00 pm. Inurnment will be at Riverside Memorial Cemetery in the spring.
