Helen Margaret (McGee) Rabey

Helen Rabey, 100, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Halstad Living Center, Halstad, MN. Helen was born May 29, 1917, in Minneapolis, MN, to Walter Watson McGee and Alida Matilda (Mansen) McGee.

Helen graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis in 1936. She was a member of Blue Triangle and Glee Club, and sang in the "Messiah" and "Elijah" student performances. After graduation she worked for a time at the Dayton Department store, in Minneapolis, while living at home. She married A. Lincoln (Linc) Rabey, in Minneapolis on June 6, 1941. Helen was a homemaker after their marriage of more than 60 years. Her husband was a carpenter and they moved often, living in several States across the country.

Helen is survived by daughter Lynne (John Brice) Roesel, of Fisher, MN; granddaughter Jody (John) Halfacre, of Hampshire, England; grandson Dustin (Laura) Roesel, of Kansas City, MO; great-grandson Elias Pickhart and his fiancé Lauren McQue, of Harleysville, PA; great-granddaughter Kendra Kaspar, of Bloomington, IN; brother-in-law Alden (Vera) Rabey, of Knife River, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She is the last of the seven McGee sisters and brothers, and she will be missed.

A family memorial service is planned for a later date in the summer.
