Helen Boska, age 81, of Waubun, MN, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Mahnomen Heath Center Nursing Home in Mahnomen, MN.

Helen Lucy Boska was born December 4, 1933, the daughter of Anton and Lucie (Fisher) Boska in Lake Grove Township, Waubun, MN.  She attended grade school in Lake Grove Township and graduated from Waubun High School with the class of 1952.  Following graduation, Helen remained on the family farm and helped out with the daily chores.

Helen loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens and would can many quarts of vegetables.  In 1966, she joined her brother, Anton, as a drummer in his band; they played together for many years.  In addition to helping on the farm, Helen also took care of her mom until her death in 1976 and her brother Edward until he entered the Mahnomen Nursing Home. She was a caring and giving individual. Helen was a lifelong member of the ZCBJ Lodge #168 of Mahnomen.

Helen is survived by her brother, Anton "Tony" of Waubun and was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Edward and her sister, Angeline Hamre.

A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with a time of gathering one hour prior at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen.  Inurnment was held at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Mahnomen.
