Hannah Jeanette Werpy passed away on October 20, 2024 in Ada, MN at the age of 101.

Hannah Sorenson was born on December 2,1922 to Nils and Ingeborg (Quissell) Sorenson on the family farm in Mary Township. She was a Norman County resident her entire life. She attended the Wilson School, District 33, along with her 9 brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, where she was baptized & confirmed. Hannah stated that the family took up the whole pew on Sunday mornings. She later joined Grace Lutheran Church, where she was currently a member.

As a young girl she helped raise poultry and pheasants on the farm, along with helping her mother and neighbor ladies with cooking during threshing days.

She met Erick Erickson in Perley, MN while waitressing at the local cafe. Erick and Hannah were united in marriage and had 3 children together: Diane, Wayne and Karen. Erick passed away in 1987. They spent their summers at Buffalo Lake, MN, with fishing being her favorite activity.

Hannah later married Quentin Werpy of Ada. They enjoyed their short years together building parade floats & poppy boards for the local VFW. They enjoyed attending the dances and banquets held at the VFW. Hannah gained 4 stepchildren with their marriage: Roger, Edie, Steve & Karen. Quentin passed away in 1996.

Hannah worked for Ada Produce Company for 30 plus years. After retirement she helped at Vissers Nursery and enjoyed the days of coffee with Don and Shirley. Don & Shirley became her good friends, along with being her neighbor. She was excited when her granddaughter Jessie purchased the greenhouse, and she could walk down the street to check out the flowers and lend a hand. She also did daycare in her 80's for her favorite kids, Barron Odden, and Zoe & Ivy Johnson.

Hannah spent countless hours volunteering with the Ada VFW Auxiliary and Norman County Historical Society.  She spent 25 years doing projects and volunteering at the Fargo VA Hospital.  Her hands were never idle. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking, gardening and yard work. Hannah was famous for her popcorn balls she made for Halloween trick or treaters.

Hannah was fortunate to travel to Denmark, Norway and Sweden with her brother Neil. Her husband Erick immigrated from Sweden. She was able to visit with Erick's family and see the areas where her parents immigrated from.

She was strong-willed and resilient. Her fortitude was unstoppable. She could be found on the floor wrestling with her grandchildren well into her late 90s.

Hannah had many good years living on Pleasant Drive, with wonderful neighbors. Last Winter, Joey Roy would bring her a weekly meal, along with a big hug.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two children; one grandchild, Scott Borgen; sisters, Anna Voje, Myrtle Hoyme, Ida Heegard, and Nora Hagen; brothers, Clarence, Oscar, Hans, Neil, and Lester Sorensen; many nieces and nephews; and stepson, Steve Werpy.

Hannah is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Grant Wagner; daughter-in-law, Sandy Erickson; stepchildren, Roger and Edie Herota, Karen Renshaw, and Roger Werpy; grandchildren, Brad and Jodi Borgen, Chad and Heidi Borgen, Jessica and Jason Heitman, Christine Gibson, Jody Olson, Vincent and Shalona Erickson, Justin and Alicia Olson, and Cory Erickson; step grandchildren, Bree and Lance Herota, and Paul, Luke and Joe Renshaw; great grandchildren, Blake and Cayden Borgen, Brenna and Brayden Borgen, Chase Buchholz, Madison and Alaina Erickson, Hunter, Zachary, and Paisley Gibson, Sam Heitman and Ella Olson; and step-great grandson, Sloane McBride. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Joan Sorenson, along with many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 4:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2024 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.

Inurnment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
