Gwendolyn A. Huck, 72, of Ada, MN, formerly of Fergus Falls, MN, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Benedictine Care Community in Ada.
Gwen was born on April 29, 1945, in St. Paul, MN. She was baptized in St. Paul's Cathedral, in St. Paul. Her mother and step-father were Doloras Schroedl and Charles Hedstrom. She was raised by her grandparents when they moved to the Perham, MN, area where she attended St. Henry's Catholic Elementary school. Her family later moved to Minneapolis and she graduated from Mounds View High School in 1963. She worked for the Billy Graham Association and several office jobs around Minneapolis.
On June 27, 1964, she was united in marriage to Uno Huck in Watertown, SD. They lived in Minneapolis until 1984, when they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. In Minneapolis, she worked for Onan Manufacturing as a data entry clerk and also for Medtronics. She later worked for Wausau Supply. She moved to New York Mills in 1991 and in 1995, to Fergus Falls, MN, where she worked for various companies. In 2016, she moved to Ada, to be closer to her grandchildren.
Gwen had a love of kids and she taught Sunday school for several years, and while at Benedictine Care Community, her face would light up any time there were young visitors, and those young visitors also loved her. Gwen had a special love and dedication to her grandkids.
Gwen is survived by her children, Jerald "Jerry" (Lisa Davis) Huck, Dayton, OH, and Kathryn "Katie" (Tony) Loosbrock, Ada, MN, 4 grandchildren: Shawn, Brianna, Hunter, and Brandon; her brothers, Vernon Hedstrom, Clinton, MO, Daniel (Linda) Hedstrom, Blaine, MN, and several cousins, nieces , and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Uno C. Huck, her mother, Doloras, stepfather, Charles, grandparents Kathryn & George, her brother Kevin Hedstrom, and several; very close aunts and uncles.
Funeral: 11:00AM Monday, January 22, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.
Visitation: Sunday, 5:00-7:00pm at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.
Burial: Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
