Gregory Angus LaFriniere, age 63, of Mahnomen, MN, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Fargo Veterans Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Gregory Angus, the son of Carol (Clark) and Douglas LaFriniere, was born on February 18, 1958, in Mahnomen, MN. He spent most of his childhood in Northern Minnesota surrounded by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. For many years, he lived in Vadnais Heights, MN, on a hobby farm, where he raised his horse, Sally, chickens, and a rooster named Bob. Following his high school graduation from White Bear Lake High School, Greg entered the United States Army. He proudly served and learned valuable skills as a military cook. He was later married and blessed with three children, Gregory Jr., Noelle, and Michael. Over the years, Greg worked a variety of jobs. Most notably, he was employed with Clark Drywall and worked at Leech Lake Gaming and Casino.
Greg was active in many things and wasn't afraid of an adventure. He loved sports and especially liked hockey and football. He enjoyed being busy and was always on the go. In his quiet time, Greg also enjoyed listening to music. He was very proud of his military service and leaves behind many wonderful memories.
Gregory is survived by his children: Gregory Jr., Noelle, and Michael; his parents, Carol and Douglas LaFriniere; two sisters: Theresa Hart and Janet Martinez; one brother, Joshua LaFriniere; his grandchildren; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Clara and Angus Clark; one brother, Leon LaFriniere; and the mother of his children, Elaine "KK" Jenkins.
