Obituary

Gordon K. Bahner, rural Hendrum, MN, died peacefully in his home in Hendrum, MN on December 18, 2017. He was 74.

Mr. Bahner was born November 5, 1943, in Freemont, NE to parents Helen (Johannes) and Karl Bohner. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1964 and was assigned to the Grand Forks Air Force Base in Grand Forks, ND.  He married Susann Quam on November 5, 1966.  He was deployed to Vietnam in 1967 and was a medic during his time in the war.  He was discharged as a sergeant with full honors on February 4, 1968.

Mr. Bahner graduated with his Bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota in 1972. He was the Norman County Court Administrator in Ada, MN for more than 20 years.  He was invited to be on a legislative committee in St. Paul during his career as an Administrator before retiring in 2002.

Mr. Bahner enjoyed many hobbies, including drag racing his 1963 Chevy Nova, horseback riding, camping, and motorcycle tours alongside his wife.

Mr. Bahner is survived by his wife, Susann Bahner, Hendrum, MN, his son, Aaron (Cammy) Bahner, Eden Prairie, MN and his two grandchildren, Bergen and Brayton Bahner, a sister, Rose Davis, Columbus, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harold.

Funeral Service: 1:00PM Friday, December 22, 2017, at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Halstad, Minnesota.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.

Burial: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hendrum, MN.
