Gloria Thomforde, 82, Twin Valley, MN died Friday, September 27, 2013 in the Twin Valley Living Center.

Gloria E. Enerson was born November 5, 1930 at Grafton, North Dakota the daughter of Edward and Emily (McGuire) Enerson. As a child she moved with her family to a farm near Gary, Minnesota where she attended country school. While she was a young lady she helped with her parents on the farm. On July 27, 1947 Gloria was united in marriage to Willis Thomforde in the catholic church in Fertile, Minnesota. They made their home north of Ada, Minnesota where they farmed for the first few years of their marriage. They then moved to Wisconsin for a short time before moving to the Twin Valley, Minnesota community. It was here that they raised their family. As her children grew older, Gloria was employed with Valley Chore where she helped the elderly in their homes, Harris Garberg in his grocery stores cleaning at nights and the Twin Valley Bakery. She also provided day care for the Armand Andersen family along with many others. After Willis' death in 1993, she continued to make her home in the country northeast of Twin Valley for the following four years. In 1997, Gloria married Sonny Thompson and they made their home east of Mahnomen, Minnesota. After five years of marriage, Sonny died of cancer and Gloria moved back to Twin Valley. After a few years she became a resident of Valley Pines and in 2007 she moved into the Twin Valley Living Center.

Over the years Gloria enjoyed county western and polka music and loved to dance as long as her health provided. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending her flowers. Gloria was a great cook and will especially be remembered for her homemade bread. Gloria was a member of the St. William Catholic Church and Rosary Alter and was also active in the Twin Valley Garden Club.

She is survived by four daughters, Connie (Curt) VanderLinden of Elk River, MN, Mary (Steve) Wiebke of Rochester, MN, Ann (Rich) Stall of Mahnomen, MN and Becky (Craig) Dyrdahl of Corona, CA, two sons, Don (Connie) of Twin Valley, MN and Joe (Marina) of Elk River, MN; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one sister, one brother and one granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at St. William Catholic Church, Twin Valley, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2. Visitation was Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. in the Anderson Family Funeral Home, Twin Valley and also one hour before services at the church. Fr. Joe Decrans officiated with Monica Winter and Tricia Simon providing music. Her pallbearers were Brandon Thomforde, Brody Thomforde, Greg Simon, Eric VanderLinden, Chad Broers, Eric Rinerson, Chad Loudon, Nic Prothero and Andy Lafriniere. Her honorary pallbearers were her granddaughters and all of her great grandchildren.

Burial was in St. William Catholic Cemetery, Twin Valley, MN
